Momma Garland's Tomato Pie Recipie

Ingredients:
9" Frozen pie crust (plain)
8 Large, ripe tomatoes, sliced 1/2" thick, cut in halves
1/4 Cup chopped chives (or more to taste)
1/4 Teaspoon dried basil (or more to taste)
1/4 Teaspoon salt (optional)
1/4 Teaspoon pepper (optional)
Two 8oz packages of grated swiss or cheddar cheese (use one or both!)
1 Cup mayonnaise

Assembly:
Cook pie crust according to directions. When cooked, place tomato slices in crust and sprinkle with chives and seasonings. Mix mayonnaise and cheese in a medium size bowl and spread over the top of the pie.

Cooking:
Bake in a 400 degree oven for 35 minutes until the cheese os browned and bubbly. Let stand for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
